How long does it take to sponsor your spouse in Canada?

What are the requirements for your spouse’s sponsorship in Canada?

You may be able to sponsor your spouse or common-law partner only if you are Canadian citizens or permanent residents and meet the following criteria:
·         Are you at least 18 years old?

·         If you live in Canada or plan to return once your spouse or partner becomes a permanent residence,
·         Are you capable of meeting your spouse’s or partner’s basic financial needs for the next three years?
If you’re married and want to sponsor your spouse or wife, you’ll need to show the following documentation to immigration officials.

·         Information on Relationships and Sponsorship Evaluation

·         If you are not married, check common-law marriage certificate.

·         Invitations to weddings and photographs

And the following papers at least two:

• Proof of your own property along with your wife
• Bank accounts shared
• Copies of IDs issued by the government
• Car insurance
• Pay stubs or taxes that indicate you reside at the same location
