PERMANENT RESIDENCY

PERMANENT RESIDENCY

Foreigners from all over the world aspire to immigrate to Canada through the Permanent Residency Process, which allows them to earn Canadian citizenship by converting their PR to citizenship. The procedure is straightforward, and it includes matching the candidate’s eligibility and documents to the Canadian PR express entrance application process in order to certify them as permanent residents of Canada.

So, what exactly is permanent residency in Canada?

A Permanent Resident Card is a status granted to someone who lives outside of Canada but is not a Canadian resident. The PR visa enables people to live and work in Canada for an indefinite period of time. An outside national must apply to Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), formerly known as Citizenship and Immigration Canada, under one of many programmes to become a permanent resident. This will determine the candidates’ Canadian PR eligibility and determine if they are eligible for a permanent visa. One of the main benefits of living in a country as lovely as Canada is the ability to have a permanent residence.

PERMANENT RESIDENCE BENEFITS

A permanent resident has many of the same rights and duties as a Canadian citizen, such as the ability to live, work (with certain restrictions), and study in any part of the country. Permanent residents can take use of many of the same social benefits that Canadian residents do, such as contributing to the Canada Pension Plan and being covered by their region’s general medical care framework. Other than those reserved for residents, every changeless resident has access to the rights, opportunities, and guarantees afforded by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

After residing in Canada for a specified period of time, a person possessing a permanent residence card can apply for Canadian citizenship. The permanent resident also has the option of sponsoring relatives for permanent residency, provided they meet the residency requirements and provide financial and support assurance.

What is the procedure for getting a permanent resident visa?

EXPRESS ENTRY is a type of entry that allows you to go in quickly. The Canadian government implemented Express Entry in 2015 as an online system for managing permanent residence applications under three federal economic immigration schemes. The programmes offer a way for applicants who want to apply for a job in Canada to do so.

The following are the programmes that are included in this system:

FEDERAL SKILLED WORKER

This programme is for talented people with international job experience who desire to permanently relocate to Canada.

FEDERAL SKILLED TRADES

The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for skilled employees who seek to become permanent residents because they have a skilled trade qualification.

CANADIAN EXPERIENCE CLASS

The Canadian Experience Class is for talented workers who have worked in Canada and desire to stay in the country permanently. Express entry profiles are made up of information about your history, talents, job experience, education, and language capabilities.

Profiles that match the requirements of one of the federal economic immigration programmes indicated above are admitted into the express entry pool of applicants, making them eligible for permanent residency in Canada.

Under the express entry programme, applicants are ranked in the pool based on their talents, job offer, provincial nomination, personal profile, and language ability using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

In addition to express entry programmes, provincial governments use their Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) to choose suitable applicants from the express entry pool to satisfy labour market needs in their respective provinces, allowing them to get Canadian PR. The top-scoring individuals are then asked to submit an application for permanent residence (ITA). The points cut-off is determined practically every fortnight by a CRS draw done by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

An express entry candidate can stay in the pool for 12 months, if they are not issued an ITA within 12 months, they will be required to create a new profile and enter the pool again to attain their permanent residency visa.
